About us
There is great mystery in growing truffles, a kind of magic to it. A truffle is the fruit of very complex alchemy, a miracle of nature…..
My name is Mark Miklavs, and I’m lucky enough to own a small farm in beautiful Margaret River and I spend my time preparing the property to grow black and potentially white truffles.
Now we have the oaks in the ground we want to share our journey with everyone, so we set up a company Margaret River Truffle Pty Ltd, and we want to open our doors and share what we do. We have planted 1,600 French and English Oak trees with the dream of producing 0.5 to 1kgs per tree, but in planting trees this project offers so much more with the oaks enduring presence, symbolising life, growth and interconnectedness with nature. We want you to reconnect to nature and find solace, inspiration and the life force in the silent wisdom of trees, and contemplate the cycles of nature that mirror our own lives. That connection evokes a sense of stewardship, emphasising our responsibility to preserve and nurture the environment in the most beautiful of all regions Margaret River.
Accomodation at Dragonfly Farm
Dragonfly Farm is perfectly situated 5 minutes from the Margaret River township. The farmhouse is an original settlers cottage, recently renovated for the 22nd century, and sleeps up to 9 people. By staying at Dragonfly, you are able to share the experience by watching how our farm develops from scratch into an established Truffiere aiming to produce Black Truffles, and potentially the king of truffles, “Tartufo Bianco”, the white truffle.
Surrounded by internationally acclaimed wineries and local artisan produce, Margaret River provides a stunning coastal backdrop to a gourmet lovers wonderland. Beautiful all year round the following links showcases a few of Margaret River’s jewels…
Guests Memories
we want you to come and relax and reconnect to Nature!
“We stayed at marks property for my wedding weekend and it was a truly amazing space Mark was so lovely and accommodating and the house was a dream. We will definitely be back!!”

“Was one of the very few places we stayed that we absolutely loved. House was very well presented and enjoyed the modern kitchen and bathroom. Alot of games to keep not just kids busy but the pool table kept adults busy. Very relaxing with the odd car passing bye and a “moo” from the cows. Would definitely recommend for big family or a group of friends looking for relaxing stay and easy access to wineries.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Beautiful home and lovely big yard for the kids to run around and play. The kids loved having the cows come right up to the fence behind the house and the swing with the treehouse. The outdoor shower was a nice touch and enjoyed by the whole family. Sitting in front of the fire at night with the beautiful view outside was perfect. Thank you for a wonderful stay.”
